PREVENTION SERVICES
1-Information Dissemination (Awareness Activities)
Three Bridges Recovery Center observes and supports a number of awareness activities including, but not limited to:
· Red Ribbon Week
· Tie One On
· Aids Awareness Month,
· SMART Recovery
Additionally, Three Bridges Recovery Center encourages awareness of alcohol and other drug problems and solutions through the distribution of literature, public speaking and press releases. TBR Center will publish a newsletter quarterly and offer information and resources on its website.
Our prevention staff is available to assist with planning of other local awareness activities. Speakers are accessible at minimal or no charge and most literature can be obtained at no cost. If you need a speaker, literature or other assistance, contact our Prevention Department (add contact info)
2-Environmental (Advocacy and Systems Development)
As a part of its mission of recovery, Three Bridges Recovery Center advocates for changes in public policy at the local, state and national levels when such changes would support the reduction in the abuse of alcohol and other drugs. The Recovery Center also cooperates with other systems to help them develop methods of preventing abuse of alcohol and other drugs and to assist with the development of a network of community members, agencies and institutions which are committed to the prevention of alcohol and other drug problems.
3 - Education
As a part of its prevention services, Three Bridges Recovery Center sponsors an open SMART group weekly at no cost.
Pre-registration is needed as there is a maximum occupancy.
We also offer local lectures regarding drug use, abuse, prevention, and rehabilitation.

a - Community Based Process (Training)
Three Bridges Recovery Center provides training to professionals and parents on preventing alcohol and other drug abuse as well as identification, intervention and referral of individuals who might be experiencing an alcohol or other drug problem.
b - Problem Identification and Referral (Outreach/Early Intervention)
These services are provided to individuals who might experience barriers to accessing services. The outreach worker can visit general hospitals, the local mental health centers, schools and universities. Information to local doctors, psychiatrists, mental health workers and other places where prospective clients may be found will be distributed.
